I'm finally updating my phone (Nexus 6) to a new rom and I'm thinking about using either SlimLP or Cyanogenmod.

Chroma with Hells kernel. Best combo for the phone.

Not using franco? What's better about Hells?

Chroma and Franco for me. Read good things about Hell's on XDA, but haven't tried it yet.

Hells is literally night and day better than Franco. Main difference is speed, while maintaining battery on par or above Franco.

Best combo for the phone. So fast and smooth.

Guess I'll give it a shot. I've already purchased the Franco and Elemental X apps. What are you using to make changes to Hells?

They have their own app, it's free. You'll have to dig to find the beta online one on play store is for n5 and not updated yet.

Nevermind I found it

Are you guys on the latest rebuilt Chroma? Any issues? Probably going to full wipe this weekend and update.

Yeah, it was just a pain to restore everything. I can usually just restore with a nandroid backup or titanium with all data. Had to pick and choose what to restore. I was about to abandon Chroma before the rebuild. Was getting tired of the Chrome black screen problem.

So, its fixed? I have also been getting some weird artifacts in Chrome at the top left on occasion...wonder if it's related.

I'm on CM12.1 right now, but Chroma was more stable on my Nexus 4.

My favorite was Cyanogenmod, but new phone is M9 and its not available for it yet, but that is a great ROM.

I just flashed my first rom on my 6 last night, and I went with Chroma as suggested in this thread. The Chroma thread on XDA says it is "focused on battery, performance, and stability", but when I took it off the charger this morning the phone was hot and locked up. I had to hard reset, and it was down to 93% battery after about 30 minutes. I am not impressed so far.

I did do a factory reset, and I did not restore any old files. I just let the phone reinstall my apps automatically.

Edit: End of day, 70% battery left. I found after my post earlier that swiftkey was eating battery, so I killed it and it's been better since. Slightly more impressed, so I hope this morning's lockup was a one time thing.
