This.

Only I pay $56/month for internet + basic no HD cable. It's like $10 extra per month.

I have an antenna in my main room and then for the other TV's I just hooked up a coax cable to them and they pull your basic abc/nbc/fox etc channels through the internet hookup.

I also have a friends WatchESPN information to access those games. CBS usually streams their games with fantastic quality and doesn't require any sort of login.

And then for those like me who don't care as much about insane quality there are other streaming sties available that have games if I can't find something with the above options.
So the antenna will get you the HD games, like all the NFL games that come on Fox and CBS and NBC over the air right? If I wanted NFL Network or SEC Network or MLB Network or Golf Channel I'm SOL without cable?

I could almost justify that. I really don't watch much TV I pay for...I really only watch sports, MLB Network, and the movie channels. I could get down with making this switch.

The only thing that worries me is maybe not having Disney Jr. stuff for my little girl.

they have a Disney and DisneyJr app just like the watchESPN app

you just need someone's login

but even without that, there are so many kid's shows on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu

So if I'm understanding this correctly, you still have to carry a cable/sat provider to access the WatchESPN stuff?

If Roku has a Disney Jr. app, what kind of login do I need for it? An internet provider?

yeah pretty much, the over the air stuff will come through in HD, but not the channels the TVs I have hooked up via Coax.

The games that are on those channels (NFL network etc) I usually find with no problems on alternative streaming sites (install ad-block) but 95% of the time I'm at home I'm near my computer so I just set up the games to view on my second monitor while I'm gaming or something. Quality is usually better streaming on my PC than accessing those same sites on my roku.

and as Salmon stated, Disney has a channel that can be accessed w/ a cable login if you have access to one.

also...one thing to keep in mind with regards to streaming. You'll usually be a little bit behind the normal broadcast so if you have friends that like to send you messages when theirs a TD or a good stop or something it may be better to shut the phone off or tell people to hold off a bit so they don't spoil shite. This was really bad for me during the World Cup as my buddy would constantly text me when the US would score etc and so I always knew something was going to happen in the next minute or so.

What about other TV's? If I have a TV in my bedroom, will I need a different Roku 3?

Yeah. I just use them as replacements for cable boxes and have one attached to each tv.

I'm really cheap. So, yeah.

So, let's say I want to watch HBOGo or something SEC Digital Network. What do I need to do on Roku? I'm kind of confused as to what the login information is for for cable providers.

Little concerned about this. This will be my first football season relying on streaming, I may have to watch games at a friends house, 45 seconds behind is rough.

the login information is the customer login information for their website, like if you want to pay your bill online or whatever for your cable

HBOGo, watchESPN (it has the SECN), DisneyJr, etc will all need cable login info

Yeah, I have cut the cord, too. It has been great, except that I just found out that TWC doesn't allow SEC Network to be streamed through the WatchESPN app.

agreed man. I originally started out this little adventure 2.5 years ago with regards to Roku's. I originally had DISH installed on my downstairs TV which of course required a 2 year sub. Once that 2 years was over with I knew it was fine to cancel our TV subscription as we never really used it anyway. Have been without now for going on 7 or 8 months and haven't looked back.
