Getting ready to order an OTA antenna to supplement Vue. I'm about 50 miles out from most stations. Can I count on a 60 mile rated antenna to work well, or should I shell out for something stronger? Will be mounting on my dish pole.

Should be able to give you a good idea on what you can catch

You should try calling them again. It's like Russian Roulette with those people. You can get someone who knows absolutely nothing, and the next call is maybe their top person.

It's happened to me on 2-3 instances.

Also, I attempted to do what you said and it worked for me at my home last night

I called multiple times and chatted with multiple people trying to do what you suggested. The farthest I got was them "escalating the situation for further review". I assumed this meant I would be put in contact with a more knowledgeable tech to help troubleshoot, but it just meant that they would look into the issue but wouldn't be contacting me back. I could call in with my reference number and get an update but that is it.

It is quite obvious they won't do anything until they get enough complaints, but judging from my google search results, not too many other are experiencing the problem.

Hmm. Might require something strong. How high is your antenna going to be? I can't open the link at work.

I would call them and ask them to cancel your account and pro-rate your wallet. Tell them to re-set your IP/Location or whatever, then re-sign up.

Planned on mounting it on existing dish pole about 5ft off the ground.

Installed this today. Great reception on all of the channels I was looking for. 50 miles out and mounted about 5ft off the ground. Awesome deal at $20.

The OT. Everyone is rich except when it comes to tv service. Like a bunch of hobos.

A littl help on choosing a setup.

I currently have ATT U450 with 18mbps Internet. I've been pleased but price is now $225 which is way too much after promo period.

I can move to TWC for a year... 200+ channels and 200mbps Internet for a year for $110 plus taxes.

Or, I just bought a Fire TV and can get PS Vue for $45 in my area for the middle tier package. Internet through ATT would be $60 (included their basic cable to get the best rate) or about $45 with TWC.

I'm actual leaning towards sticking with cable for a year at the TWC promo rate. I hate needing to deal with this crap every year though... But even the Internet only is at a promo rate.

Neither have data caps.

Thoughts?

You're probably better off sticking with Uverse

I save about $30 a month with Vue and I find it useful

Well $225 isn't working so that leaves me with $60/month Uverse and potentially $45 Vue. I could probably be good with that... But TWC is a better package for only a few bucks more.

Yeah, sorry I meant sticking with cable and going with TWC.

Vermilion Tiger,

Is the set of Kodi Instrutions linked on the top of this thread still the best/most straigtforward install guide? I'm setting up a couple for friends this weekend and I know you really keep up with the changes.

Thanks!

Yes

Using ES File Explorer, you should be good to go. Remember to follow all instructions. Post here if you have any issues.

yes, works great for a certain few but others are too unreliable. Not worth it for me.

USTV Now is a solid add-on for live locals.

KODI users, be careful when clearing cache. I accidentally hit clear data and lost all my shite on KODI
