I've always been an android owner, but I'm flirting with the idea of switching over to apple. I can't decide so I turn here for some help. I'm used to the way Google does things though. I guess that's one reason why it's a difficult decision. All of my info is stored under the Google platform. I'm sure I can download Google apps on the iphone and still have access to everything.

If you are so used to google, what is making you contemplate switching?

Just curious, this coming from a 6+ owner with nothing but good things to say about it

The grass isn't greener, just a little different. They more or less do the same things, although I think it's easy to argue that Google is better at many things if you're comfortable with them collecting all of your data. If you're comfortable with Android stick with it.

I've used iPhones since the 3G and am very happy with Apple's products. When the 4s came out, my wife and I tried the Galaxy s3 for a year. While it did give us some additional customization options, we were ultimately unhappy with the battery life, jittery functionality, etc. Websites that scrolled smoothly on our old iPhones would not do so on the new s3s. We sold them a year later and went with the new iPhone 5 and never looked back.

Anecdotal and I'm sure others have had different experiences and perhaps android/Samsung products have improved, but I'm glad we at least tried android and verified it wasn't for us. I'm otherwise a fan of google. If you decide to try iPhone, it'll probably have a higher resale value if you decide you want to go back to android.

I recently made the switch from android to iOS and the one thing that is most noticeable is that iOS apps are much nicer than their android counterparts.

The battery life on the iPhone 6+ is almost unreal.

There will be a learning curve and obviously some features of android you miss, but go ahead and scratch that itch.

I went from a Note to a 6+ earlier this year and love the 6+. However, I also use a lot of other Apple products (Two Macbooks, Ipad, Apple TV). I didn't mind the time that I had my Note, I just think the whole O.S. and the home screen and widgets look kind of trashy and cheap.

I wouldn't have switched back to an iPhone though if they didn't come out with the plus. I loved the big screen of my Note and that was honestly the only reason I bought it.

But Google's business model is built around monetizing the data. That makes a difference to some people whether you think it should or not.

It also means they have a strong reason not to want to lose it. Data breach for Google equals no business.

I've said before that your data is probably as safe with Google and Amazon as anyone else because of how much they value it, but why is it impossible to point out Google's primary business model without fanboys coming out of the woodworks acting like I just told a malicious lie about Google? It's what they do and does differentiate them from the competition and is very relevant to a thread wanting to compare Android/iOS experiences. They're all just tools, not great leaders you need to follow and fight for. Some of you people need to get some better hobbies, being on a corporate team is just stupid if they aren't signing your paycheck.

I'm having a tough time deciding between these 2 phones as well for my next phone. My main concern is battery life. The S4 seemed to have a much worse battery life than my Iphone whenever I got it but I like the features of it more. Couldnt make it through a day of tailgating without it dying on me though. I have heard good things about the Samsung Note's battery life, so may try that one out next.
