My two roommates and I have a couple nice TVs for our living room, but living with two guys, I would prefer to have something for my bedroom. I don't need a particularly large screen or crystal-clear picture, but just something to get the job done.

I've done some pretty basic research on Best Buy's website and have seen a number of LED and LCD TVs that hover under $300. Is this my best bet, or should I be looking elsewhere?

I have had a TCL in my bedroom now for close to 5 years with zero problems.

I just got a TCL Roku for my home gym - fantastic experience so far. If I had more room, I would have gone bigger, but $218 for a 32" (720p) - and the Roku interface has my rethinking Chromecast/Firestick.

Their 40" (1080p) are in the $300 range for the OP's budget.

Amazon $339

Bought a 40" LCD from Wally World 3 years ago for $187. If you can't find that you're dumb.
