For my TV plugged into the wall, just noticed the local HDs are gone. The analogs however remain. The Mini Box order page is live. Forward!

Can this be found under your cox account or is it somewhere else?

Is this basically comparable to the Genie/Genie mini system?

It's just for Live TV. Does have a guide, from what I understand.

Is there a work around to not have to rent the box from cable? Can I buy one online?

That's my questions as well. Can I just buy it outright? I don't want to rent one for the foreseeable future.

Can purchase a silicon dust prime for ~$110 on amazon. Is still @2.99 a month for the cable card rental, but then at least you get 3 tv's with it. Each tv would need a device like the Nexus media player or Nvidia shield console, or a pc. You need something that has DLNA and mpeg2 decoding. I'm running one to a media center pc and a nexus player. The android app is 1 time fee i think of $3-4. Silicon dust is also working on a DVR that will be $30/year but can then stream to a pc, android, or Mac.

Samsung also has a box but it's $160 plus the monthly cable card fee for one tv.

I'm pretty pissed that they're pulling this shite. I got the letter in the mail last week about the all digital switch in the New Orleans market. You can get 1 mini box free for 12 months....then you have to pay an additional fee for the same freaking service you paid for before.

I saw somewhere where you'd be able to pick up SECN on mini Box which was not available through analog.

That's nice but I have access to SEC network through other means. I really wish my wife would just let me cancel cable TV.

Idiots. People cutting the cord left and right and now they just give people a reason to finish cutting the cord.

What genius came up with the idea to charge more money to people who are already pinching pennies to have only basic.

I loved bringing the box back to them when I started cutting the cord and now they gave me the final push.

Ordered the minibox yesterday, got it today by FedEx. Delivery was free.

I'm happy to report all the former analog SD channels are now HD. This thing is basically like the large receiver they'll rent you for $8.99 or so, except it doesn't appear to have PPV capability. Operating the guide, changing channels, etc is quick. The supplied remote is not bad, except they put the Zoom button where I expect the Exit button to go. There are four zoom steps, but only two seem to have any effect on a given 16:9 or 4:3 channel, and it doesn't display the Zoom mode as you switch between them. I don't expect I'd ever purposely press that button, so that's a pretty dumb layout decision. I'll continue using my universal remote.

As someone mentioned earlier, SECN is available.

So do I get all the channels that my main receiver was getting? For instance, I'll get all the sports channel and HD channels with the minibus?

My local hd channels all work fine. When are they supposed to stop working?
