When I go to start it up, the screen comes on, but just sits there and the laptop makes some kind of weird grinding noise. The noise comes from the bottom of the laptop where I guess the fan might be. It's a Toshiba Satellite c55t-c5300 if that helps anybody. I've tried to reset it and that hasn't done any good.

This is what the screen when I turn it on. It just stays like that.

There's a video of what it sounds like when it comes on.

Again, I've already tried to reset it to no avail. Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Tia.

Has it been exposed to heat for a long time recently?

Did you take the battery out and then put it back in then restart it? How old is it?

1. Don't ever upload a video to TD with your username as your real name, you've been doxed.
2. There is a Tech board, look left.
3. Sounds like something loose in the machine, that could be the grinding noise.

Sounds like a HDD failure.

Unless you have your OS on a SSD?

It's done with. Not much you can do unless you pay someone to try and recover any important files you may have had on it. Sucks man.

If you get a new one, definitely don't get another Toshiba. They're known for doing that shite.

Too much stuff on the hard drive. Weighs it down. You need to remove some data to remove weight so it can spin freely.

Toss it out the window. I bet it won't be stuck on that screen anymore

Good thinking blocking your face in the reflection.

Laptops probably fried, always use a cheap burner for porn.

Sorry but that is not it. Maybe the data can "weigh" down the hard drive as in speed. But, data would add such a miniscule weight to the hard drive it would be virtually unnoticable.
