Just got a surface pro 4. Very happy with it, that kickstand makes for a easy user experience laying on the couch.

I use google and android for everything in my life from calendars to personal and work emails. Chrome allows you to sign into google and all your settings are imported like bookmarks, accounts (youtube and others), and search engine.

Is there a way to get rid of microsoft edge or the internet app it uses and make my google stuff default? Ive tried to add it but it doesnt seem to give any options.

Have you downloaded Chrome? Surface Pros run Windows 8 or 10 so it should be just like any other computer.

I'm just starting to figure this thing out. I had it in tablet mode.

I have downloaded several apps, but when i go to settings - default apps and try to make the changes it will not bring up any options other than things in the microsoft store

It still wants to only use the following:
Outlook or Live
maps
Microsoft edge or Internet Explorer
a few others.

I am not sure what im doing wrong. What you guys have described seems easy enough.. just not happening.

In Chrome, go to the top right and click the button that has 3 solid lines. Click Settings and find the button at the bottom that says make this your default browser. Not sure about setting the rest of your apps as default though.
