As in...I get set number from Cox...I'm going to get set number whether I am wired or wireless (give or take a few because Cox fluctuates)

Wired is faster than wireless when you have multiple wireless devices tapping into the wireless bandwidth.
Same goes for wired but most of the time there are much more wireless devices connected to your router than there are wired connections, so if this is the case, the device you want to receive the fastest speed should be the only one on the wired connection.

Not to any extreme if you set them up correctly..The above shots are with around 52 users on wireless and 164 on wired
