Sending UHD (4K) content to non UHD display

Guys, is there any problem sending UHD content to a non UHD display? I currently split a signal between a UHD display, a wireless HDMI transmitter to a 1080p display, and a HDMI to component converter for a slingbox. My current splitter can't handle UHD signals and I was going to pick up a splitter that can. However, it occurred to me that perhaps my other devices won't be happy with that signal.
I understand that my wireless transmitter might not be able to send the signal, but what if I were splitting the signal directly into a 1080p display?

Not sure about your wireless transmitter splitter thing but most of them will only transmit one resolution and I've yet to see a 4K piece. So if you have a 720p display and a 1080p display the transmitter will transmit a 720p signal to both displays.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I answered my own question. I found a link that said that with the exception of Sharp Quattron Plus sets, which are no longer available, that 1080p sets cannot downscale 4k signals.
