You're gonna get dudes in here crying for you to get a real 7.1 setup, bitching about Sonos' price, yada yada, but I can't recommend Sonos products enough. I installed a full setup for my parents and then got one for myself after because I was so impressed. Wireless sub and surrounds are a godsend - so nice not having to run speaker wire and hide it and shite. Incredibly simple, Apple-like setup. Great app to make tweaks to EQ, height, surround and sub volume, etc in seconds. Super easy to switch from tv/movie content to music. Dolby Atmos content will have you needing a seatbelt on your chair/couch.

If you're getting the Arc, you have to get the sub as well. The Arc isn't substantial enough on its own and needs the low end support from the sub. Just splurge and get the kit with the sub and the surrounds when they go on sale in a month.

I'll tell you this though - don't buy direct from Sonos. They double shipped me my order and during the return process, their customer service had me wanting to call in a drone strike on their HQ. Never again.

I have an arc, mini sub, and two One SLs for a surround setup. don't think I would need anything more than that. I had the Arc by itself for a bit and it did great, just wanted some more bass.

I have 2 Sonos Beams, 1 Sonos Arc, 2 Sonos Subwoofers, 2 Sonos Era 100s, 2 Sonos Ones, 1 Sonos Roam, and 1 Sonos Five spread throughout different rooms in my house.

From a simplistic standpoint, they just work (it is great not having to run speaker wire). Plus Sonos has a huge following, and you can tell the company puts time into research and development, and their app is actually beneficial (and works).

I also have a Marantz 60 A/V receiver, Kef speakers (5.1), and a subwoofer for a "true" surround sound experience - all hardwired. The hardwired obviously sounds better, but if you don't want to go that route, Sonos is an excellent choice to consider.

Expensive, but the value is still there.

Sam's and Costco usually have the Sonos Arc for $50.00 less than Sonos website, or Best Buy (and Amazon).

Sonos is the apple of the audio world.

Its overpriced, but you're paying for an ecosystem that's easy to use and everything typically works.

Before I got into Sonos I tried a Vizio sound bar that had amazing sound for the money, but the software was glitchy and I had eArc handshake issues at least 25% of the time.

How do 2 homepods (not minis) sound in comparison to the OG Playbar or ARC?
I'm debating selling/moving my OG Sonos Playbar and just getting 2 homepods for my appletv in living room. My girls dance to homepods virtually nightly in the living room and then we use playbar to watch tv after.

I've never listened to a home pod but the one thing that would almost certainly be better compared to a sound bar is the stereo separation.

Ease of use. I have Sonos in most of the house and a legit sound setup in my sun room. The Sonos can’t touch the full system, but it sounds plenty good AND my 7 year old can work it on an app.

I have the arc, sub and era300s as rears in living room, sl1s in kitchen, beam in bedroom and sonos 5 on porch. It is nice being able to choose music or whatever in any room.
If you can do it, buy arc, sub, and era 300s. It is an amazing and dynamic sound. This is coming from someone that use to have full b&w nautilus 800 series. The era 300s bring a whole new sound to it all.

Have this setup in my basement and watching Atmos content is very impressive. Plus I have some Sonos One SLs through the rest of,the house. Best combination of sound quality and ease of use for whole home audio.

Agree with almost everything in this post, but this is the most important line. The arc by itself is worthless, but is badass with the sub. Plus the more you add to it the better.
