I started having a problem a week before iOS9 came out. It continued after the update. Safari was very slow, then it would just shut down by itself. I resolved the issue by closing all browser "tabs" (or whatever they are called in Safarii on the iPhone). I haven't had a problem since.

No crashing at all for me. iOS 9 as well.

I was having the same problem. I restored my phone and downloaded ios9 again yesterday (not from backup). Seems to be working better now.
I've also had problems calling people and not having it ring--the person receiving the call say that they answer but no one is there.

Started before iOS 9 for me also. Closing all tabs fixed it for a few days. It's annoying as hell.

Pages with linked jpg's and gifs are creating the crashing issues. Also mobile websites. I'm avoiding it for the most part by using the desktop version of sites.

I like the constant movement towards improvement, and to be quite honest, iOS 9 was more about giving the software the ability to utilize the new force touch technology Apple's using in their touch screen/iDevices than it was trying to reinvent the wheel.
All in all iOS is much more stable and cleaner for me on both my phone and my tablet.
