Hey fellas, what should I look for in purchasing a new router besides cost? I have always relied on my internet provider to provide me with on. (They suck)

In relation to cost, consider how many wifi-connected devices are in your home, and how many of them might be using the network actively at the same time (streaming/downloading). Also consider whether or not any of your devices have 802.11ac. Consider how big your house is. Consider whether you use it for heavy local network sharing (a Plex server, for example) or strictly for internet.

I'm not sure when this is going to be available, but if it works half as well as advertised it will be a steal at $150.

I'm not going to pretend to understand the technology behind it, but I'm sure someone here does. I signed up to get more information when it is released as a product.

My biggest problem is what's available in my area as far as speed. The max available for me is 18 down 2up.

So I really don't know if a different router besides the att issued Motorola is going to make a difference.
