My wife has the cheaper Iphone 5c. I dropped the damn thing while trying to charge it at hotel in the dark this weekend. (Since, my daughter swore she brought two chargers and actually had none so I was trying to do a good deed and keep everyone's phone charged.) Of course, she has it in these cute little worthless POS cases so I broke the glass. Of course, all other phones in the family have Apple care, insurance and are in Otterboxes. 350 for a new outdated phone.

So i have to fix the damn glass. 3 questions.

1)Is the glass lense the same on the 5c as the 5s?

2) How hard is this to do yourself?

3) Any advice on kits etc?

LINK
assuming you dont already have the tools, get a full kit. dont bother trying to just do the glass - its a giant pain in the arse. link is to a full lcd replacement kit w/ tools. not overly difficult to do, plenty of youtube guides out there. block off an hour so you can take your time. hardest part is keeping track of which screws go where when you rebuild it.

Replacing iPhone screens is easier than a lot of phones, especially the non-4/4s models.

Look up a youtube video on replacing the screen and you should get a good idea if it's a repair you're capable of. If not check some screen repair places. The 5c is old enough that I'd expected a repair shop would charge $100 or less.

It isn't that hard. I replaced the dock connector on a 4S about a year ago. The way they're put together, you pretty much have to take the whole thing apart and put back together to replace that. Get the kit with the screwdrivers and full LCD and just take your time. Just get some sticky notes and when you take a screw out, stick it to the sticky part and write where it came from on there.

The 5c is super easy to change but it isn't the same as a 5s. If you can turn a screen driver you can change the screen.

If it's still fully functional and simply cracked then it's a cheaper fix.

I just broke my iphone 6 and local companies wanted 160$ to fix it.. this is for the full fix though as my touch screen broke too.. but I found a trustworthy business on ebay to do it for $65 with shipping.. this again is for a brand new entire lcd and digitizer.

The iPhone 5c is much cheaper to get fixed by these companies too because the screen is smaller. I think you can get the entire screen replacement fixed for $40. LINK
This is the company I used. They are quick. They usually ship it back same day they receive it and they ship 2-3 priority usps which I like. This woman I trust as well, only $35 or best offer LINK Any ways if you do it yourself, good luck to you.
