Huge news. Will probably double in subscriptions, if not more.

We are happy to share that PlayStation Vue is expanding to Roku devices today, with support for Android smartphones and tablets launching next week. Since we’ve launched PlayStation Vue nationwide, we have heard from many of you that Roku and Android are the top devices you wanted us to add, so we’re pleased to make this a reality.

Seems like the Roku is getting 60FPS. Wish they would upgrade the AFTV to do 60FPS.

It's got DVR. You can save your shows in the cloud for 30 days.

Yeah this is a big deal. Not only would I need to blow out shows on my own DVR before switching, but the 28 day limit on DVRed shows won't work. I have some old stuff that takes us a while to get around to. I've even been trying to use my media server as a DVR, but the wife is not going for it. Having to use a different app (Plex) to access recorded shows is just too many layers. That's what's holding and will continue to hold streaming back. People want a single interface to all of the content. Vue gets things a step closer but it's not there yet.

If you have the lowest tier with ESPN and ESPN2 does the ESPN app not show you live content on ESPNU, News, SEC Network, etc. or can you watch anything on any of the channels?

No, you have to subscribe to the package that has those channels to watch them on watchESPN

Rule of thumb is 15mbps per TV if all are expected to be streaming.. you should be fine IMO

Apparently ROKU TV can stream in 60 FPS, but I can't confirm as I don't have one.

Yes. It should use about 5mbit per stream, so assuming you get anywhere near what you pay for, you should be able to max out your 5 streams.

What about when you watch Netflix?

The only way to come close to this is to do things illegally (with Plex and torrents/usenet), but you don't get live events that way. The legal streaming routes kind of have the "app" mentality, and I'm not so sure that's a bad thing. I think it's the bundling of channels and services that got us into the overpriced TV service mess in the first place.
