LG has impressed us with the G3 which comes in at under £500 but packs amazing features including that Quad HD and a camera with a laser auto focus. The device is surprisingly small considering the 5.5in display and we like the more premium design. It's another winner from LG

Im torn between the M8 or the G3. G3 looks like a really nice phone. My upgrade is next month and they should have the G3 out to play with by then to make a decision.

yes. I love my HTC One M7 hardcore rooted beast. I have left it outside overnight in a rainstorm, had my son drop it in a toilet after he pissed in it, and it STILL works. I love the M8, but that G3 has my attention.

July 17 on Verizon. Others should be around that
Can't go wrong with the G3 or M8. Both spectacular devices
ETA: The M8 is $99 this week!

More US carriers need to get Sony phones. They're putting out some great phones and no one here knows about them.

how much is this phone off contract?

i'm REALLY happy with the performance of the M8. there are some software issues i have a problem with, but i will just get new software. is there any objective area where the G3 is superior? i'm just curious

I haven't seen a price yet but most flagships usually run $600-700 off contract.

Man I'm really thinking about that G3. So torn between waiting for the iPhone 6 or picking up the G3 next month.
For those of you who have the M8, what do you think about the camera? I haven't read really glowing reviews about it.

considered waiting on the 6, but since it isn't out until mid september and then tack on another month waiting until I can actually get my hands on one its just not worth the wait. Better phones available now, my 5 is hanging on by a thread. The battery has gotten beyond pathetic

Yeah the waiting sucks. Mid September is a long time from now and I'm not sure I'm down for waiting in line on launch day again (although if you get there early enough you meet some...interesting people )
I have a 5S and I'm happy with it, but my wife's 4S is beat to hell so I feel like a shmuck sitting on an upgrade for months.
$99 for an M8 sounds really good, but that camera...just don't know.
If my wife keeps giving me the side-eye I'll probably go G3. Guess I can always sell it in September if I change my mind.

camera isn't a deal breaker either way for me

I'm not a photophile but I do need a good shooter. It doesn't have to take fantastic pics but they have to be "very good" which the 5S does. It also has good shutter speed, even for HDR shots. And it handles low light very well.
It probably isn't the best at any one thing but it's very good at pretty much everything.
The Galaxy S4 camera was fantastic. If the M8 had as good a camera I would get it today.
The G3 camera is supposed to be very good. We'll see.

I don't think it's that bad these days. If you order it the day that ordering is opened I'm sure you can have it the day of.

Camera. I won't count the screen as that high resolution commands a lot of processor power and battery.

I REALLY want to pull the trigger on this when it lands for AT&T. I've been using iPhone for almost 5 years and don't mind it at all. Never used Android before, so the uncharted waters makes me hesitate. All that being said, I have a 4s, jailbroken, but the screen is seeming getting smaller with all of the larger screen, higher resolution phones that are available. Also, I heard that Android-based phones slow down after a while, so there's that (if true).

That may have been true in the past as Android OS became more resource intensive but the devices nowadays are pretty much futureproof. Also, not clearing temporary files/cache will slow any phone down.
