I'm no mathematician but $40x24 is $960, $200 for the iphone, and the activation fee is $1200 for 2 years....

That is what insurance is for. You mitigate that risk when you accept insurance.
Also the insurance is highly recommended but not a full fledged requirement. The rep probably bundled the price in with the insurance....

Just a heads up, the Moto G is sold for pre paid accounts only. If you have a contract and want to activate this phone, the Moto G had to been activated for 6mo. on pre paid before you can put it on a contract line. Bettet to buy a phone off of CL/Swappa/eBay IMO.
