Outdoor TV sound to Sonos connect amp

I am going to be hanging a tv outside Monday. It will be done by a directv wireless mini. Currently I have my 2 outdoor speakers run to the amp for music only. The thing I am having trouble with is figuring out what to run the audio with from the tv to the connect amp to get the sound using the outdoor speakers without a lag. Any help greatly appreciated.

What outputs does the mini box have? If they have audio out, run that directly to the amp. If not, you can run from the audio out on the TV to the amp. I've hooked up both ways to my amp without noticeable lag, especially on sports.

It has a digital audio plug. Would I have to get a digital audio to a analog audio to plug into the amp?

I started with a similar setup. I wanted to use a Fire Stick and Uverse box on my outdoor TV with a Sonos Connect Amp. I connected both devices to the TV via HDMI, and then had a Optical Audio cable from the TV audio out into the Sonos Connect AMP (by way of a converter to RCA in I believe). It worked fine, but I found that even turned all the way up, the audio was not loud enough.
I have since connected in an older regular AV receiver that I use to manage the outdoor audio for that TV. I even removed the Connect with Amp from those speakers because I was never using it (There is another Connect Amp hooked up to two different speakers for outside music), leaving the other two speakers dedicated for TV audio.
YMMV, but I'd try the sound first and see if it gets loud enough for you.
