Does anyone have any recommendations on a 24+ port switch that I need for home use? The more ports the better, and I would like to spend less than $300. TIA!

Any reason you need 24 ports in one room? Otherwise, I would get a few 8-port gigabit switches and put 1 in each room, with each room having 1 run of cat6 to a switch in the networking closet/room/attic.

You can get a Cisco small business switch in that range.. they can be used as plug and play or you can dive into the configuration if you need something more advanced.

I'm using THIS at work and have no complaints.

I'm sure the 24 port version is just as good.

Maybe consider something with at least partial POE (power over Ethernet). You may want to add IP cameras, etc in the future.

I have the 24 port version of this and it is solid. Best part is that it is silent.

I would highly recommend the TP Link

I'd recommend this.

I have used the Small Business line a few times for customer installs. For small businesses and homes they're great.

However, I put a 48-port 10/100 Cisco small business switch under some stress and it didn't handle it well. Odd connectivity issues like connection dropping in and out, random bouts of hosts being unable to reach their gateway, etc. So if you plan to have all 24 ports used and actively doing traffic (I had these problems at a school during peak hours) then I'd splurge for something a little better:
