I am looking at purchasing a new TV. I get Sony's at cost so was looking at picking up the A9F that is about to be released but have heard about image burn in. Anyone have experience with this?

OLED burn in does happen. I haven't seen it on an A1E yet and the A8F is the same display. Maybe their OLEDs haven't been around long enough to see it happen as often as other brands.

You've had to post a half dozen threads on here about buying a Sony TV from your dealer buddy. What happen with that deal you had two model years ago with the matching custom sound bar ? That sounded like a deal.

I've probably said it in everyone of your threads but I'd buy a Z9D. Not because I fear the burn in but b/c I like the picture better.

I've been following a series about OLED burn in on this channel. They have been testing 6 identical LG panels.

Sorry but thanks for hangin with me through all of them. I don't bring it up as a brag as much as a "It takes some of the premium price shock out of the equation" so people aren't saying "why don't you go with LG instead for cheaper?"

Will circle back at the Z9D to take a look. Appreciate you sticking through all my threads.

I have an LG OLED. I have the channel 9 logo burned in. Been researching how to get rid of it but no luck yet.

Did you try the tools to fix that? Don't remember the names but one moves the image to different spots on the screen at random intervals and the other runs when you turn off the TV.

I will be taking great care of my new OLED 65B7A that I purchased this morning at Nebraska Furniture in north Dallas for $1196.99.

I'm going to give it a full torture test this evening and if it doesn't have vertical banding, then the Vizio I purchased last week goes bye bye back to Best Buy.

Abe's has it at that price as well, mine cost more at Costco, but came with a 3 year square trade deal.

It was only a 15 minute drive to get there. Me to the wife, "Hey, I've got a couple of things to do. Be back in a few."

Hoping something like this pops up in my area with people trying to move last years model. I'd be willing to pull the trigger on the 55 or 65.

Report back when you get a chance. I have an lg as well, and while I haven’t run into any problems yet, I’m curious if those features fixed it.

Are you on avs forum? They all have vertical banding, it’s just which ones aren’t as bad. Careful what you look for as in this case ignorance is bliss. I haven’t run any gray slides because I really don’t want to know. I haven’t noticed anything in normal content and have looked in scenes where I should notice it, but I’m staying away from gray slides. IMO I won the panel lottery.

The point of the torture test. Determine what I can live with.

Awesome! Good for you. Hoping I can, too. I haven't even unpacked it yet.
