quote:I hate it, but you can get rid of most of it by installing a different launcher. Not sure if you can get rid of the crap they put in the notification shade, though. I didn't have my S3 for very long before flashing a different ROM, so I didn't really try to make it less annoying.
But, is touch wiz really as horrible as people say?
You might like it, though. Many people do.

I have a Note 3 and there are things I don't like about it and thing thst are great. It's like any technology. It's only the best at what it is for a fleeting moment. And then, the moment is gone. I will likely change in January to a G3 or a Note 4, but leaning towards the G3 right now.

Yeah I mean this is the first time to you've ever made a 25 second thread insulting someone for their choice of phone.
Like ever.

Don't put too much into Rockets, he's a tad juvenile in the head. And he always ensures he's fighting with at least one of us Ohio State posters at any given time. I know him well from the MSB.

Yeah I wish he would stay there. He's just a worthless troll when he comes over here. Adds zero value.

Holy shite, are people actually defending Apple here for their phones bending in peoples' pockets? Just, fricking wow.

quote:Dude, you really are out of touch. This is the single greatest advancement in smart phone history! Just think of all the other items you can replace in your life with a bendable phone:
Holy shite, are people actually defending Apple here for their phones bending in peoples' pockets? Just, fricking wow.
* Satellite dish
* door stops
* curved TV
* neck brace
* meatloaf shaper
* cat poop scooper
The list is literally endless if you use your imagination.

Not defending, just trying to show some perspective. Look at the Consumer Reports testing.
quote:
To test the phones, Consumer Reports put them through the "three-point flexural test", which has the phone supported at two ends and has pressure applied at a third point, alongside competitors like the HTC One (m8), Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G3 and iPhone 5.
The results showed that the 6 Plus was actually stronger than the iPhone 6, starting to deform at 90 pounds of force and having its screen and case separate at 110 pounds of force. The iPhone 6 started to deform at 70 pounds of force and started coming apart at 100 pounds of force. The HTC One (m8) performed the worst in Consumer Reports' test, deforming at 70 pounds of force and coming apart at 90 pounds of force.
The LG G3 started to deform and come apart at 130 pounds of force while the iPhone 5 deformed at 130 pounds of force and came apart at 150 pounds of force. The Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, deformed and came apart at 150 pounds of force. Consumer Reports notes that while other phones, like the iPhone 6 and HTC One, were still functioning after deforming and coming apart, the Note 3 stopped working right away.
Overall, the magazine notes that while none of the phones they tested were indestructible, all devices tested should hold up fine under everyday use.
So whaddyaknow, all phones bend when force is applied. Some worse than the iPhone, some better than the iPhone. Damn physics, you crazy!

It's been interesting to see people who seem to love calling Apple fanboys sheep be this manipulated by the media which latched onto a viral video for clicks.

Yeah. All nine of em...

I don't think anyone believes it was just 9; not that it was 1,000 either. But Consumer Reports actually put some science behind it rather than trying it by hand. I'm surprised we haven't seen a video of someone putting it in their pocket with tight jeans on and sitting in awkward positions trying to see what would bend it. That would at least be funny to watch.
