Paging LSUtoo

Decided I just need something good, not great to get by for my new desktop at home

I use my work laptop around the house, and just want a desktop at my desk for basic browsing and the occasional burning a disk, streaming, etc.

Do you mind recommending a few setups in the $500-$600 range? Assuming I can get a decent tower for that amount.

I previously decided to build one with my nephew, but neither of us have the time anytime soon, so wondering what's out there.

Saw this on Best Buy earlier, is this decent?

I will be adding a SSD to whatever I buy

Yep, totally fine. $500 should get you an i5 and 8GB RAM minimum. That + an SSD will be golden. More than you need for your purposes.

so that setup in the link is adequate?

i dont know how to search far back, but i remember a year or so ago, you posted a detailed step by step guide on how to install a SSD and have the OS boot from it, etc.

it was very helpful. i cant seem to find it on TD. do you happen to have it?
