So I started off with a Samsung S4 active and always had problems with phone calls. After about a minute of being on the phone, I could still hear the person I was talking to but they could no longer hear me. At the time I rarely talked on the phone so I didn't really care.

Well now I need to talk on the phone and after switching to an S5 the same thing keeps happening. I've gone into the ATT store which did the classic switch the SIM card but that didn't work. Went back to them and they told me to call technical support but I can't really do that seeing as that's my problem. They basically said well we don't know what to do.

Anyways have any of yall ever heard of this? Do you think it's ATT or the actual phone? Either way I'm kind of pissed off at ATT and looking to switch providers and phones because I think it's the phones fault and crappy ATT customer service.

TLDR: Samsung S5 keeps dropping calls, ATT doesn't know what to do, ever head of this happening? What company and what brand phone should I switch to?

I'm having this problem (and a lot more) with my Note 4 since the lollipop update. Anytime I receive a call while on the phone, it automatically goes to speaker phone with the current call. Not cool. At all. there is no way to turn off the speaker phone without ending the call, as well. That's just one problem. Im trying to hold out until November to upgrade.

I have always had dropped calls with AT&T. Mine aren't that bad I have a nexus 5 and moto x 2014. When I had Verizon, my coverage was far superior to at&t. The problem was att customers (just about all of my family and friends) would have problems calling me. Verizon would swear the problem was on att's end. It wasnt like I (as an Verizon customer) could call and bitching at att. I unfortunately switched back to att and suddenly could talk to other att customers.

Tl;Dr att sucks but sometimes we don't have an alternative

If your phone is on Verizon, turn off the Advanced Calling feature. While this allows you to have data services during a phone call, it also requires their LTE4 network -- which is spotty.

I've had Verizon for years and loved it until I got the S6. Turning this feature off eliminated dropped calls for me.

Went through someone else's phone to call ATT technical support and they are trying a bunch of stuff. Supposed to call me back when they are done but I haven't heard anything yet. I just need my phone to make PHONE calls

No issues on my Note 4. I use ATT towers but through Net10. Never any issues. And the Verizon service isn't LTE4, it is their AWS network, which even then should not have any effect on your calls.
