With Amazon prime you can download for offline use like Spotify and a few others. Amazon should come out with a small device that you could download the offline music to that isn't your phone. Kind of like an iPod. For the right price of around $30-$40 I'd be interested.

Doesn't really make a lot of sense to put money into that as most people have a smart phone these days.

Don't know what that is..

I was just thinking of a smaller device to bring either running or camping without having to deal with caring your phone around..maybe it's not a good idea.

I'm lost...looks like something out of the late 90's..guess I'll research raspberry pi..

I was talking about a small device about the size of maybe an iPod nano..or a little larger.

Raspberry pi is a DIY tiny computer system. Sure you could build an MP3 player with one, but you don't need to reinvent the wheel. Look for the Sansa MP3 player mentioned in the thread you're talking about. It's small and some models even have an FM tuner.

Yeah but I'm not downloading mp3 to transfer to an mp3 player..I just download what is offered through Amazon prime..not sure if you can transfer to another device because I believe it's saved to the app or something, not exactly sure but it's not saved to anything my Android music player can access. You have to play it through the app on your phone.

If Amazon Prime is the main music supply then your cheapest option is probably going to be an older android phone.

Right. I really actually want a good Amazon phone and I'd be set. The differences in phones now a days comes down to ecosystems.

Have a lot of movies or music tied to Apple iTunes? Go iPhone.
Have a lot of movies or music tied to the Google Play store? Go in 1 of a million directions with Android Phones.
I personnaly have a ton of movies and Amazon Music tied to all of our Amazon devices. No damn Amazon Phone (at least not anymore.)

Get an echo dot and hook it up to a speaker in your house.

A 50 dollar 7" Fire tab, with the largest SD card(200g capacity) would be my solution.
