Time machine is basically an app that backs up your computer. You just open the app, run it and then plug in a backup hard drive. I highly recommend buying the time capsule that I linked though. It will replace your current wireless router and literally every single time you connect to wi-fi when you are at home, I am assuming you will use it as your home router, it will back everything up without you having to do anything. You won't even know it is happening. You can connect up to 50 apple devices to it as well, not that you would, and it holds up to 2tb and it only $179. Well worth it IMO to have an AMAZING wireless router that makes sure you never lose anything.

I am wth Cox and use my own modem. That line is complete BS, and you are basically renting a modem from them for $7-$10 each month. Anyone who doesn't own their modem is throwing money to them. Using your own is as simple as calling them and telling them this is the route you want to take. You give them the MAC address on the new modem and you're good to go.
Buy the time capsule like the other poster suggested. Even a $50 external HD (1-2TB) from Amazon would be helpful and would still result in a very easy way to back up (my current solution).
I've had similar problems with my macs in the past. I'd be more than happy to post more detail on how I recovered data. Do you know how to get to your HD?

GPU or even the Logic Board doesn't affect the HD...

Just dropped it off. The man and woman I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. He said it would be done around Monday but I said that I'd pay extra to have it rushed since I'll be back in Hammond on Saturday and Sunday for a carbine gunfighter course. I'd rather not make the drive again
Y'all can watch my sextapes, just don't upload them to Youjizz or xnxx.

How much to replace the battery on a 2015 MBP retina if you don't mind me asking?
Caused by water damage but it still works while plugged in. Won't charge and turns off whenever unplugged so I'm assuming it's just the battery

Wife just went through this three weeks agoLate '11 17"). No hard drive problems with the fix.
While it was sent off they also replaced the battery, trackpad, DVD drive and power supply. I was pleasantly surprised
