Looking to buy a phone using Swappa

Is there anything I should know beforehand? Things to look for, what sellers to buy from, etc? We use AT&T, so do I have to look under AT&T phones? Any other pointers?

Yes, unless you want to switch carriers. I prefer unlocked phones but that's a whole other topic.
It's really pretty self explanatory. I only buy "mint" or "new" phones, all the others are kind of a trick bag. Pay attention to what's included. Does it come with the charger, etc.
You can't sell a phone on there if the EIN isn't clear so you should be safe there. I've never had any issues.
Happy hunting

I have sold multiple phones on there and also bought my international Galaxy S8+ off of there new, zero issues buying or selling. Great site.

So let's say the phone is listed as new and I receive it and I can tell it isn't with obvious wear...does Swappa have some time of fraud department to report it to and get your money reimbursed?

Swappa requires listings for new phones to show pics of the phone still wrapped in plastic and any seals must be unbroken. Just check the pics well. I've never had an issue when buying a phone but I'm sure they'll help you anyway they can if there are issues with the phone. There's also PayPal protection.

Swappa is pretty strict about verifying. And sellers have a star rating.

I bought my Dad a phone off there because of CAD's recommendation.

I have purchased 5 phones from Swappa and sold one there.
All but one of the deals were great. On the other deal, the seller never sent me the phone. But Swappa and Paypal will work to issue you a refund.

I used it once and had a bad experience b/c of the seller. Swappa did make sure that the seller made it right. Basically I bought a phone that was supposed to be 'like new' and in 'mint' condition. The screen had several scratches and the seller tried to play dumb as if he didn't know. I did get stuck paying the return shipping. With all that said, I'd buy again from swappa. I believe my experience was the exception.
