That only helps when switching activities.

So if you are running the activity "Watch TV" and want to also run the activity "Patio Music" and play music outside it will not switch your TV off.


However, if you decide you are done listening to music you cannot just turn the music off. It turns off everything.

So yeah you can adjust the power defaults to allow things to stay on when toggling between activities, but you cannot simply power off 1 activity without all of them powering off.

eta: My workaround to this was tasker, ifttt, and the join app. But that's a lot of work and create a big lag. It's kinda ridiculous that this functionality is not baked into the harmony hub.

Check out the Flirc USB IR receiver, allows harmony remotes to control Fire tv
