Stuck on iOS 9.1 waiting on Jailbreak and Apple keeps releasing these Betas for 9.3 with the swiftness. There the jailbreak developers keep holding on to the jailbreaks so as not to show their exploits. Sucks

I am an entire Apple ecosystem user. But my patience is wearing thin. I hate being forced into doing what apple thinks is best for me.

I keep finding myself reading reviews on the Nexus6p and it's got me jonesing for one, bad. Especially with since how easy it is to root.

Someone talk me off the ledge.

Im kinda in the same boat as you. I like having my iphone jailbroken and here lately I have been getting tired of the same ole same old. I also have been looking at the 6p but need to do a little more research into what the "change" will entail. I have the original iphone data plan so I know I will loose that, but dont know if its worth it in the long run vs new android plans. Along with changing devises apple has adapted to like my Nest (i know i know) and Harmony remote.

ETA: I swear this feels like changing banks.

I changed over to Motorola for two years and couldn't wait to get back into an iPhone. The lack of a bigger screen was the main thing pissing me off with Apple, so I made the switch back when the 6 came out. If you have a lot of friends with iPhone or use group messaging with iPhone users, then text/multimedia messaging issues will be enough headache alone the make you miss iPhone. That was really my only beef with android but it was everyday and drove me crazy.

Dude, you do realize some people enjoy the simplified ecosystem of Apple without being an OMG isheep. Not everyone cares about emulators, removable storage/batteries, etc. They just want shite that just works.

It must really hurt your feelings that people like stuff that is different from what you like, doesn't it?

The gold Nexus 6p is $50 off right now. If you don't like it you can return it. Mine is coming in tomorrow. I used to be an avid Android user in addition to iOS but for the past year and a half I've use iOS exclusively. With the reviews of the Nexus 6p I figured I would jump back into the Android pool. I'll keep my 6 plus regardless and just use both if I decide I like the 6p.

overreaction.

OP wants to jail break, so OP may be happier with a phone that doesn't fight his desire to customize/unlock things every step of the way. I switched from iPhone to Nexus myself for that very reason. I no longer have to wait for jailbreaks, hope someone will crack the latest incremental patch, or ever fear installing any updates. I will never go back.

And in every one of those threads, at least one a-hole has to mock the Apple user. It's always so helpful.

It happens so much that the kneejerk reaction now is for Apple users to get overdefensive toward anyone who says anything remotely negative about the brand, so even the reasonable advice gets ignored. Even my purely anecdotal, personal reason for getting a Nexus, one which is highly relevant to the OP, inexplicably upset at least two people.

What is this? I've had the same unlimited plan on ATT since the original iPhone, and I'm currently on the Nexus 6p.

The change from Apple to Android is usually highly exaggerated. You essentially have the EXACT same apps just with different names, and android has a deeper settings menu and widgets.

yeah, well, apple would need to release their sales numbers for that...but wait, they are avoiding doing so.

theyve also slowed down production of the gen 2, as the demand is simply not there.

Blah blah blah.

Watch 2 will be here soon enough. Proof positive they haven't "thrown in the towel".

I'm working on my Amazon wish list tonight...

What do you like to do with a jailbroken phone? Serious question.

This is my question as well.

I remember I had a jailbroken iPod touch a long time ago, which was cool because I could download any app for free. That was several years ago, though.

I had an iPhone - oh so very briefly. Actually my first smartphone, I got a refurbished 3G back in the day. My first affirmative act was to jailbreak the phone, which went without incident. I was generally happy with the hardware.

iTunes was the dealbreaker. I was able to avoid it for the longest time - I had iTunes on my work laptop and I could do updates through that. I was able to manage the phone with Winamp and other workarounds. But, finally, I had to go iTunes to even manage the handset. Boy, I regretted that.

Once I got free from that, I went Droid and I've never looked back for one second.
