Is there any way to download and play PC games on a Mac?

Recently downloaded steam and I'm kind of disappointed in amount of games I want to play but can't because I'm on a Mac.
Any suggestions besides buying a PC?

Sell the mac. Buy a PC. Problem solved.

You don't want to game on a virtual machine.

For some reason nobody running a Windows machine needs an Apple emulator.

As far as Wine goes, it's a staple for Linux platforms to "emulate" Windows environment for games. Mileage will vary A LOT.
I've never used a VM (whether VMWare or Virtual Box, etc) to install a Windows VM to play games. I don't see it being good (access to the GPU, etc), but I'll refrain since others may have much more experience doing so.

This. Buy a copy of Windows 7 and run boot camp.

Well I'm stuck with Mac. Not buying a new computer for games (college student) so I'll just have to get by I guess.

I'm a Mac user. I'm aware of this.
I play KSP and a few other games on my MacBook Air and it's fine.
I don't recommend Macs for serious gamers but most serious gamers already know that.
I was referencing SG's comment which wasn't helpful and was not addressing the OP's request for advice.

The advice I gave was as solid as any in the thread.

He specifically asked for options besides buying a PC. You advised him to buy a PC.
Not helpful.
