Is there a way to buy a powered USB connector?

I have an external hardrive i want to use with my Wii U. Problem is, the hardrive draws more power than the wiiu usb port puts out.
Is there something i can buy to give the Hardrive the power it needs and still let me connect it to the wii?

I can't say I have seen one. It would have to be like a power injector that plug to the wall and the Wii U.

they usually have a usb connector that goes from the hub to the other device.
You plug the hd into the hub.
Works on a desktop or laptop just like it was a port on the computer and the powered nature provides the power instead of the device like the wii or laptop.
Now,i dont know how a wii recognizes drives though. Make sure you get a hub tha thas the option to plug into the wall for more power
