I have an employee who has a new iphone6 and it is using 16 gb data every month. It appears either push notifications or some app is running up the data--

Is there a way to find the culprit?

Turn off push notifications. Wait until next month, if data is down that was it.

ETA: My LG G3 tells me my biggest sources of data use. Im not sure, but an Iphone should have something similar.

Settings > cellular has a list of apps and their cellular data usage totals since last stats reset.

That guy is reading TD all day. Either that or streaming a lot of video. Never had a background app on ios be responsible for a ton of data drain .

I was actually just coming to post this as well for my 5. I had an android for years and the wife and I never went over 3 gigs. As soon as we switched over to Iphones we're hitting 10 gigs a month and we haven't changed our usage patterns at all.

Isn't there an app that constantly searches for other iPhones? Just throwing that out there.

Have them check apps like facebook, instagram, etc. Those apps default to auto play videos and it will chew up a ton of data. A woman at my office went from 10gb/month to less than 2gb by just turning off auto play.

Could it have anything to do with backup settings to iCloud?

more research- we have turned off ALL push notifications, background research etc

Bottom line it appears to be the phone itself. You gotta love how Apple takes no responsibility.

A little web search and you find out the issue exist with Verizon at and t , sprint- it is never a droid phone just the iphones
