Saw some video explaining 5g
Said it’s like when HD launched and there were only 2 channels
Said this is basically future proofing you so as they enhance the network it will be subtle changes in speed

They have a not even half arse 5g out that is basically a tiny step up from 4g lte. I think they did it just so they could say they were technically first.
Their actual 5G is probably only in a very few locations in big cities.

So, I had to update my unlimited plan to get 5G but for some reason my phone doesn't goes 5g in settings. I just have the option for LTE and 4G. How long does it take before 5G shows up?

Need some advice. Have Verizon and IPhone 11’s for me and wife. Can cut bill by $80/mo and get the trade in promo by switching to AT&T.
But I have to pay VZ $1200 to get out of my current contracts (for tablets and IPhone 11’s).
Seems to me that the best deal is always right when the new phone comes out...the carriers try to o get you to flip between them.
Thoughts?

Anyone finding the built in speakers to be really poor? Sounds cheap and hollow, much worse than the my 8 plus tbh. It’s a minor gripe, but it’s annoying me.

First I’d make sure to ask someone you know who AT&T is in your area. Nothing worse than switching from a carrier you’re happy with to save money and finding out it sucks in your area.
It would take 15 months to see your money back so I’d take that into account.
AT&T doesn’t have any other offers for people switching? I know sometimes carriers will pay whatever fee to switch.

Not in my experience. The lowest I have gotten down to was 62% yesterday.
I try not to be on my phone all the time but was on it a bit yesterday.
To be fair, I switched from an iphone 8 that the battery was going out on so I would have to recharge at least once in the middle of the day so after that anything would seem like it has a good battery.

I went to a corporate store Friday and did the trade in. Hadn’t gotten the package mailed.

Just to be clear I just did this deal for my daughter. It’s not a straight $800 credit. It’s spread over 30 months so you are basically signing a 2.5 year contract unless you want to pay the balance when/if you want to switch providers.

So you’re gonna pay $1200 now....just to save $80/month? Seems unwise.
