So true.

My device was delivered by fedex, and I thought surely they’d require a signature, but they didn’t. Had I known that I would’ve run errands earlier.

Should I have received a new SIM card with the phone? Just opened the box and there isn’t one.

I used my sim from my XS, it’s working fine.

Question... Should I be seeing 5G instead of LTE in top right corner? I know damn well Lafayette doesn’t have legit 5G.

Luckily I caught the ups guy on my ring. He kept knocking and ringing the door bell like he needed a signature. Only one home was the dog who was going ape shite at the door. I was able to answer and give him my last name and he just left it behind some Halloween decorations.

Make sure your phone is set for 5g. I know that may seem obvious but it’s possible to be on a plan that doesn’t have it.

Is anyone having issues setting up their visual voicemail? Instead of “set up voicemail” all I see is “call voicemail”. It’s not letting me set it up so that I can use it. I feel like I had this same exact issue happen whenever I was setting up the iPhone X, but I can’t remember how I fixed it. I’ve already tried the methods but nothing has worked.

Just got mine in and set up. It won't connect to AT&T cellular network. On hold with AT&T now.

That blue is nice looking, I got the Graphite bc I was concerned it would be too cutesy. Graphite is still pretty sexy though.

I was having the voicemail issue but it fixed itself after about an hour

I think it just took a while for the phone to fully integrate with the network

I am on VZW and you have to use the new SIM to get 5G.
The old SIMs will work, but cannot connect to the 5G network.

Hoping that’s the case for me too.

ETA: literally just checked again after your comment and mine is now working too!

I guess I was wrong. Apparently there is 5G in Lafayette. FYI, don’t try using your old Sim card in your new phone.

Curious what my speeds will be in Dallas

I’ve been getting 100mb on LTE and I’ve heard reports of 500-700mb around town

Of course AT&T is based in Dallas so this was ground zero for their 5g rollout

I’ve also heard turning on 5g will significantly lower your battery. Anyone confirm

This is just LTE on my couch with my 8+. I would hope 5G is much more than this

I didn’t realize I had to switch my plan to unlock 5G for att.

Some how though it ups my data and lowers my cost by $7.50. I’m still looking for the downside to switching.

Also, I’m pretty impressed with the battery life so far on the 12 pro.

How can you tell if you are getting 5G connection?

My phone says 5G at top but my 10 did that as well in cities with 5G and obviously wasnt using 5G with the 10

That was 5GE that you were seeing. My XS Max did that as well.

quote:

5GE, or 5G Evolution, is merely AT&T's name for its latest and greatest iteration of LTE, which utilizes specific technologies, like 256 QAM, 3-way carrier aggregation and 4X4 MIMO that will play a role in 5G's ultimate development. 5GE is available in 400 markets and counting.

I’m going to pre order the new pro max when it’s time.
