Precisely why it's running slow. Each new version of iOS is designed to be more resource-intensive than the last, partially to force upgrades and partially to take advantage of newer hardware. I'm still running a version of iOS 5 on my 4s for that reason (and to keep my jailbreak). But as I continue to hold out, I find that some apps are actually refusing to work until I update, but none that are essential. My Cydia shite still works, and Pandora.
