You'll be able to download tweaks that will speed up the animation of apps opening.

Stop watching so much porn. Apple products can get viruses too.

Plug it in to a computer with iTunes and do a backup of all your apps. Then, delete all the apps and slowly install one at a time and play around with it. Give each app several hours of time and see if one app is causing the issue.

How much free space do you have on it?

I did that. I only put 5 apps back on it. Removed all photos. Probably have 12 gigs or more of space.

That sounds like a lot more trouble than the tablet is probably worth.

Try turning off Spotlight Search in settings.

Might help.

Okay, I'll try that when I get home. I'm just going to quit updating my devices. It never makes them better.

Yes, I used to think just Apple did it, but I was wrong.

A three year old tablet is gonna start to be slow..I mean that's practically a dinosaur these days.

Not that you won't still be able to use it, but if you keep updating with the latest iOS that's basically designed for hardware exponentially better, well then yeah you're gonna see performance drops.

At only $500, I would just advise people to get a new iPad every two years. That is what I do. It's $250/year for something that I basically live on. That's a hell of a value.

They last much longer. I used my original iPad for two years and then gave it to my kids who used it for two more years until Best Buy had a $200 trade in for any working iPad. I traded it in and bought them a Mini. The original iPad worked as well the day I traded it in as it did four years earlier when it came out of the box.

I would probably have steered clear of putting iOS 7 on an iPad 2, though. It's probably better to not update devices that are on the very tail end of compatibility just to be on the safe side. Most times it's probably gonna be fine but there is a risk of it slowing it down.
