I'm going to switch to Frontier Fios(formerly Verizon) - 100mbs up and down for 60 bucks. Currently, I pay $70/mth for 150 mbs, but will have to fork out another $50/mth because I have 3 teenagers and we are going over the 1 TB limit.

I can't be the only one doing this. How is Xfinity reacting to this when people switch? Are they reaching out to people who drop the internet because of the overages and giving them a better deal? I'm just asking, because I've been very happy with Xfinity in my area ever since I got rid of cable and switched to internet only.

i predicted this a year ago when they "generously" raised the datacap to 1TB.

frickers knew this wasn't going to be enough but it sounded good to those of us already burned by the 300GB cap. i've paid $100s in overages already on the 300GB bullshite.

i have 4 kids so honestly i bet i'm close to hitting that. i was routintely hitting 400GB when the cap was 350 and that was with me walking around the house 'turning off the netflix bubble guppies' faucets running around the house.

i honestly was hoping we'd have a couple of years before this became an issue but comcast.

Comcast doesn't give one rats arse about its customers. It just wants to make money which makes them look for new ways to make money.

I used to work for them, so I know.

That's crazy. Been with cox for years and blowing the 300 by a lot consistently. Just upped me to 1tb and still go over a little but have never been charged an overage.

I know, I'm really just surprised that Cox hasn't done what Cox do.

Jax-tiger i thought you were in jax due to the name forgot you moved to OR. I'm in the same boat i have 2 teenagers and a 8 year old that stream as well as a wife and myself. Not sure that 1 tb with all the people streaming will be enough . I'm gonna monitor comcast internet closely next month to see if it is worth keeping.

I was going to do what you were thinking about seeing if comcast would try and keep me without spending the extra 50 a month for unlimited data. If not AT&T has the 1 gb download speed and unlimited data for 80@month for 12 months ,in my area, then goes to 90 @ month. so i will report back in a month about this time to see if comcast offered me a deal without having to pay to much more for unlimited data.

CAD703X that AT&T plan with unlimited data is looking good because having the fear of finding a unmanned streaming device left on for hours maybe a heart attack
