LG G3 if you can wait 2 weeks or so.

LG G2 is also really solid, but again the next model is coming out in just a couple weeks.

I know it may be beneath you but I just got the lumia and I couldn't be more pleased. I haven't figured out how to save my contacts yet or how to keep multiple tabs going but so far I like it and its better than my old IPhone.

5c might get some bad reviews when compared to the 5s but there is no where that would review the 5s poorly unless they were completely biased. The 5s is a great phone that has nearly everything you could want on it.

That said, I played with a Galaxy 5 the other night and was impressed by the build but I still don't like the Android system. Being used to my 5s, the phone felt gigantic, which compared to the 5s it is. If you like the Android system, I would certainly give it a look.

My personal favorite last time I bought a phone was the HTC One. Felt well built, beautiful screen and I liked the HTC overlay. If there was a Lifeproof case built for the One, I would gotten one in a second.

Are you eligible for an upgrade? Which carrier?

If your answers are "no" and "at&t," I would suggest the Nokia Lumia 520 from the microsoft store website. You won't get a better phone off-contract for $59 new.

LG G3
HTC One M8
Nokia 930

If you're not trying to spend a lot of money...

Nokia 520/521
Nokia 630
Moto G

Which specific model? "Lumia" covers several different models. Almost like saying "I just got a new Ford car."

I've been with sprint for years because they give me a 23% discount off of everything through work. No upgrade deals as of now. I'll look into this. Thanks.

Social snobbery at Windows products is a common thing. Regarding your original post about iPhone 5s and 5c, though. 5c is just an iPhone 5 in a new case with different dimensions, so your standard iPhone 5/5s cases will not fit it. 5s is the newest (until Aug/Sept) model iPhone. It's as good an Apple phone as was ever made. If you like their devices, there are no drawbacks to either as opposed to any previous generation of devices. The main differences between the two models are:
5s has/5c lacks: newer/better camera, fingerprint scanner, upgraded CPU. As you're out of contract, you'll probably only find rather high prices on the phone.

Any negative reviews were, in fact, probably biased. You can argue all day over which OS is superior or better (but I won't take any part in it), but as far as how the phone performs, it's an Apple product and performs on par with any given Apple product at time of release (if you take out generational gaps in technological advances).

gotcha, thanks for the input
As you're out of contract,

actually not under presently contract, how much better of a price would I get on the phone to switch? I think I get the same company discount a AT&T

I knew you had posted prior which one you had gotten. I was just too lazy to go searching.

That's ok, I just can't believe how excited I am over this phone. It puts my old I-phone on the ground, for 60 bucks.

With a 2-year service agreement and all other charges out the window (I don't know the plans well enough, what you have, or what will fit your needs), the phone itself:
$200 is the starting price for:
1) iPhone 5s
2) Amazon Fire Phone
3) Samsung Galaxy s5
4) HTC One
5) Asus Padfone X
6) Nokia Lumia 1520
7) Samsung Galaxy Note 3

$100 is where you'll find:
1) iPhone 5c
2) Samsung Galaxy s4
3) Samsung Galaxy Mega
4) LG G Flex

Your free phones look like:
1) Moto X
2) Samsung Galaxy s3 mini
3) LG G2
4) Blackberry z10
5) Nokia Lumia 920
6) Nokia Lumia 925
7) HTC First
8) LG Optimus G Pro
9) Nokia Lumia 1020

The iPhone 4s (8gb) is going for $.99

ETA: All from AT&T. Their website has a really good storefront. The only drawback is that I can't seem to find how to sort (not filter) by price.

You can find a phone on craigslist to hold you over till you are eligible for the upgrade price. I'd meet them at the sprint store and have it activated to make sure all is good.

Do you have Amazon Prime? And if so, can you comment on whether you can stream (either video or music) via the stock IE web browser? I can't find that answer online, and I am aware that there isn't a discrete app for streaming from Amazon. Streaming capability is one of my current holdups on the switch to Windows Phone, but it looks like I'm leaning that way in the near future.

Not yet, I just got the phone Thursday night and you are way past my knowledge level, hell I haven't even figured out how to store contacts yet. It does, however, have a mobile TV app.
