BBM is good if you need to communicate with someone overseas. You CAN do voice calls over BBM. You can transfer pdf and word files over BBM. However, its really only useful if someone doesn't have an unlimited text plan or is stuck with overseas charges for texts.

Now, BBM meetings are really good at $13 per month. Meant to replace Webex. But only a few here will have a need for that.

Will any android charger work for a BlackBerry device? Reason I ask is because of the thread about the android charger that charges to 100 percent in about an hour and costs ten bucks

Probably but you don't want to cause heat degradation either. The chargers are real cheap on ebay

Might be the bluetooth. I'm using Plantronics Voyager Legend, no problems.

Q10 worked fine, iPhone worked fine, old BlackBerry Curve worked fine. It's the Passport.

My mom's classic is eating up battery. She only uses it to text and call sporadically, and it is usually dead at 4pm. No idea why because it didn't used to do that

Go into locations settings and turn off traffic collection.

Also settings, security and privacy , diagnostics. Turn it off.

Also open settings, device monitor and it will tell you what's using the most juice. You have a 2800 battery in there. Should be fine, not fading at 4pm.

Traffic collection was off, and I turned off diagnostics. In the device monitor, it wouldn't show the previous 48hrs of battery usage

It actually uses battery about 5x faster when it is idling than when she's actually using it

The device monitor should still tell you what's eating up the most juice

The data service you turned off was constantly sending data back to BlackBerry. Does you no good and runs down battery

It won't display it for some reason. Only displays current, and not previous 24 or 48hrs, so I can't figure out what it is. The option is there, but it doesn't switch over from current to previous. Gonna try a hard reset if it has one

Mine ranks the usage and has "System" as eating up ten percent. Anything I can do? I just did all your other recs, thanks. Also, any other recs on something similar for Pandora? Might have just been today but it was terrible. Cutting in and out, taking forever to load etc. TIA

My battery life got a lot better after upgrading to a newer version of 10.3.1. I can easily get two days out of the passport and I imagine your battery life would improve on the classic as well.

It's working better today. I don't know what the deal was, but I think it's fixed now. Thanks

13 percent. That's crazy. Anything I can do or it is something that has to be on?

Take a screenshot and post on Passport board on crackberry. They live for these moments. Like the rednecks who put winches on their trucks just to pull people out.
