it's a phone. they all look 90% alike these days.

eta: especially when you slap a slim black case on it.

I don't get the uproar over this looking like an iPhone. I feel like people are saying this only because it has a white front. If it was the black model, there would be very little whining.

I'm not upset about it, I really don't care, but let's not act like it doesn't look familiar.

Obviously the back is entirely different, but the front..

the front looks way more like a nexus 6p or nexus 5x than an iphone.

It's not all that different from previous Galaxy phones either.

The front is bland as hell.

The test model in the first post looks a lot closer due to the antenna lines and almost looks like it has a button with the censored part.

Not a big deal, but it's funny since people complain about the big bezels and antenna lines on the 6/6S

like a physical push button? that would be a pretty big shocker. I wonder if they're doubling down on the thumbprint and putting on on the front and back.

Well there's no front-facing speaker so the bezel would make ZERO sense if there wasn't a button of some sort there.

Would be waterproof, just wouldn't float.

it won't be the same setup as the Nexus 6 or 6P. It'll be one front and one on the bottom like the HTC 10 and iPhone 7/7 Plus

I'm anxious for these to actually hit the market to see what options, configurations and the pricing settles in at. Being on Verizon I'm attracted to the Droid Z Force as a replacement for my Turbo but the Google phones look good enough "so far" as to cause me to wait until all the questions about them are answered before I take the plunge.

What about the front? It's black glass, just like 100% of smartphones today.

The Pixel looks nothing at all like the iphone. Nothing. Would you be happier if it was made out of peanut butter? Oh, shite! Its silver aluminum and has antenna bands! Yep, iphone clone.....

ETA- The antenna bands on that iphone are huge and hideous as frick.

Did you even look at the test device pics? The bands are much bigger than the concept art. The phone looks extremely similar. It's not a bad thing, the iPhone design is nice, so of course people are going to go that route. There are phones that are very distinguishable from the iPhone with the same basic shape., that test device is definitely not one of them

Well, I disagree and I really don't see how you can look at the front of that phone and say it doesn't look like an iPhone. Everything about it looks like an iPhone to me. However, that is not really a problem with just the new Pixel phones.. most phones look very similar to one another nowadays. And that's not really a negative to me. I'm just making an observation.

I'm getting the Sailfish, but that doesn't mean I can't think it doesn't look like something else.

It looks like the Nexus 4.

I said I was going to pass on this years Nexus, but I am a phone whore and will probably get it 1st day. I'll use it in conjunction with the Note 7 until the Next generation snapdragon is released.
