check your target for inventory

These work with all smart home hubs.. not just wink.

Use the target inventory codes to look them up. These are on clearance.

The 60w bulbs $4.48 normally $15 id: 085-02-0166

The 65w BR30 style $5.98 normally $20 id: 085-02-0722

Isn't it cheaper to get the switch on your hub -vs- each light?

Totally depends on how many bulbs are on the switch. I personally rather the switch because I'd rather have one thing to automate/connect rather than a bunch of bulbs. You will need a hub though. i.e. wink or smartthings

Is it correct that the bulb relies on the app, but the switch can operate normally as well. Meaning, if i turn the bulb off, i would have to use the app to turn it back on?

1. WiFi bulbs have their use. I have 2 in outdoor post lights that come on at dark and turn off at midnight. I also have 3 in a fan in a room that has a 12ft ceiling but the fan control on the wall lacks the control to turn the lights on and off. Finally I have 2 in the attic that come on when I pull the ladder down and off when I close it.

Cheaper to buy a $15 bulb in all of those applications vs a $50 switch and I can take the bulbs with me if I move easier than removing a wall mounted switch.

2, the lights switches I have the bulbs on have guards that prevent others in the house from turning the switch off so they're always controlled by automation only. The attic is even easier.. I just wrapped the pull string around a rafter.

3, if the switch is accidentlly turned off when you turn it back on the light always comes on so you'd just need to turn it off with your device or wait for an automated script to do it.

Just thought of a new smart bulb idea. Like twice a month I forget to take the trash can to the road at night. I'm going to write a script to blink the hall light next to the garage on Sunday night to remind me

with all the sensors and doodads around my house i can probably cook up some kind of crazy shite to entertain the kids.

i'm going to work on that..'back porch sensor activated within 2 minutes of front door sensor and its past 9pm at night turn on and off each light in the house'

i'm gonna do it. surely there's a scavenger hunt type of thing here..they have to figure out the right sequence and win a prize for getting all the lights to go on and off
