Does Uverse work with coaxial cable?

Well Charter just raised rates again. Almost $200 for cable and Internet. Uverse has a two year special for less than $100. My house only has coax run to the TV locations. Will the Uverse boxes work with coax cable?

You have fiber in your house?

They should come install for free and run any wires necessary as long as the service is available in your neighborhood.

Uverse usually comes into your home via Cat5e or regular telephone lines. Once the gateway is connected, they can route it to the outlets via coax, but, from what I was told during an installation a few years ago, they would rather use Cat5e lines.
They can deliver it over fiber, but it is all the same after the gateway.

At&t installer will run a cat5 e to the rg then route your existing coax to tv's or use wireless boxes

From the Gateway they can use coax or Cat5. Early on installers would do the coax because your house was pre-wired for that. Warning! More than 3 TV's on the coax and you will have pixilation and buffering problems. There are no problems with Cat5 over 3 TV's. I've been using U-verse in Slidell since Katrina.

Uverse comes through fiber and they will prefer to run it to your tv's via a cable; however, i have it run to two tv's via coax and i do not have any problems. Just be carefull about how many times you split the signal, but it should be ok for a few boxes.

I have 5 tv's running off Cat5 on Uverse, no problems at all.
