For some reason when I read your name my thought process went like this

Read name
Read Zereaux
Think Zero
Think I like Coke Zero
Think "Do I have a Coke Zero?"
Yes I do! But I really want a Coke ICEE
Now I'm disappointed I don't have a Coke ICEE

Thanks for nothing ZereauxSum

Just got an iphone 5s. Before i have had 3Gs and 4s. In the 4 years i had those phones i never went over my 2GB data plan. I just got a 5s last week and use the same apps the same amount and i went over my 2GB's in a week. Does have LTE on drain the data that fast?

If you play the same playlist of songs on a 3G phone and an LTE phone, they will use the same amount of data.

When you set up your new phone, how long was it between the time it got turned on and you connected to WIFI? My guess is that it had to download all of your old apps, maybe some data, etc, and that's what used up your data, not the normal usage that you are thinking about. If that's not what caused it, then there might be a data hog app running in the background that you didn't have on your old phone.

How fast you get data has no bearing on how much data is being used in and of itself.

Either you used it way more than normal or your provider is fricking you.

I went out of my way to spell "Zereaux" this way specifically so things like this wouldn't happen...don't even know why I try.

Yes it does. I had this problem on my wife's phone once she got the new Iphone. We never had problems until recently. Then all of a sudden she was using data like fricking crazy. It was absurd.

I also made sure certain apps wouldn't use data in the background along with turning LTE off and we're back to normal.

well, yes and no.

consider google music:

it likes to cache all the upcoming songs in your playlist or album you're listening to. cool huh?

so if you have a playlist with like 40 songs, its busy using that nice fat LTE connection to grab the next 39 songs.

that a hunk a hunk a burnin data.

if you were on a slower 3G connection, it wouldn't get so far down the list since it takes longer to grab them.

c'mon tmobile free music data!!

see my comment about google music (also notice my screenshot on page 1).

you don't have control over this 'caching'. google just does it for you.
