DirecTV Now DVR Issues

What the hell is up with this? It's marked as in Beta but Jesus is this thing unreliable. I thought at one point they had an option of $5 to get the DVR, but is this the only option right now? Not feeling great about knowing our shows are recording all the time.

It is a little squirrelly. I have noticed that when I record a series, I have had missing episodes. I would get 1 to 3, skips 4, then gets 5 on. I have talked to others who have also seen this same anomaly.
You also can't add an extension if recording a live event that can go past the time on the guide. You have to record the next show to make sure you get all of the game.
I have also noticed that you can't record the series for some shows. PTI on ESPN is one example.
I am hoping this gets better. It is beta.
I did not see any option to pay extra for the cloud DVR. It comes with the package I subscribe to (just right package). This is the only cloud DVR option they have.

I've found that DirecTV Now sucks in general. App crashes often on my Pixel, my wife's iPhone 8, and on our Samsung tablet. DVR can be squirrelly.. but it is ultimately much cheaper than alternatives since I have an unlimited plan on my phones.

There's definitely some bugs to be worked out with the DVR still. Took almost two hours last night to watch an hour long show because it constantly stopped to tell me my network was underperforming and when it played again it would jump all over in the show.
As soon as I got off a recording, it would load a live channel in two seconds no problem. My router is in the next room so that ain't it.
