Anyone bring Chromecast on trips and successfully get it to work on hotel TV?

Yes, by cloning the MAC address

1. Plug in the Chromecast and complete the setup steps far enough along to see the MAC address (or if you have super sharp eyes, read it off the back of the dongle).
2. Turn the Chromecast off.
3. Use the appropriate tool or settings menu on your device to change the MAC address of your device to the MAC address of the Chromecast.
4. Open a web browser and complete the authentication process.
5. Change your device’s MAC address back to it’s original address. (Rebooting may be required.)
6. Authenticate the device with its original MAC address.
7. Plug the Chromecast back in.

I'm currently thinking of a time that I was in a hotel room attempting to get a Firetv Stick connected to the network, searching thoroughly for a way to spoof the MAC of the device to that of my (authenticated) laptop, and realizing how stupid I am.
