Can someone explain this network adapter thingy is?

So I can just plug this into the wall and plug an ethernet cable to it and it is like a wired connection? This seems better for stationary devices instead of wifi.

I have a pair of these in my house and they work pretty damn well if you just need to get a device connected to the internet.

I had the TPlink N600 versions and they worked well. It would be nice to be able to turn off the broadcasting function, though.

Yea,

Been using these for years for clients with large houses. It leverages the electrical wiring in your house and pumps the data signal through that. One of these wherever your router is, and one plugged at a location tha wifi cant reach without a booster/amplifier and these become very useful. Plus wifi in general is not 100% reliable anyway.
