My daughter has a Mac, but needs windows for an online class. If I use boot camp to load windows do a need a new full copy or can I use an upgrade disk from an old computer?

Legally you need a full copy.
The upgrade disc will likely asl you for the disc of your previous version. You can likely find a work around.
And lol at buying a Mac only to run Windows anyway.

Not trying to be a smartass, but: Are you sure she doesn't just need a program?
Of course it could be a Windows-tutorial online class but seems more likely that whatever software is required could be found for OSX.

Some of those online classes use special software that I could see supporting Windows only.

Bootcamp is very finicky. I would suggest she use parallels or fusion depending on the specs of her Macbook

2nd the suggestion to use Parallels or Fusion.
Bootcamp requires you to reboot the machine each time you want the other operating system.

I like Parallels as well, except for the constant paid upgrades.

She can't just use a computer lab for that work?
