Best Router To Buy

I recently purchased a two story house that is approximately 1900 square feet. We will have Charter internet but I'm not sure how strong the signal is going to be because Charter had to construct the lines to my house. It's approximately 1200 feet from a major highway. With that being said I believe I need the strength when it comes to the router. The router will be placed upstairs where all of the bedrooms are. Downstairs is my living room that has my big TV. Ideally we would like to stream TV. We would be running 4 TV's, 4 phones, 3 IPads, and 3 laptops. Of course all of them won't be running at the same time all of the time. Can anyone recommend a strong enough router to cover that area with that number of devices?

If money is no issue, either the Asus or Netgear top of the line. Plan on dropping 400 dollars. Obviously, the lower tiers of the same routers around the 200 dollar mark are just fine. Make sure to centrally locate any wireless router in the home. That way you get equal coverage at all corners of the home.

I saw a tri band Netgear at Best Buy for $270.00. Do you think that would be sufficient?

If you would like the best possible signal constantly, take the time and trouble to hardwire the best router you like to each tv. buy 4 of the cheaper routers and use them as wifi extenders. here is a video, and more on the side for instructions. How to use routers as wifi extenders.

The nighthawk is awesome. Asus is what I run.cant go wrong with either.

Sounds very similar to my setup. Upstairs is a pair of bedrooms and a large rectangular playroom. Downstairs is the living room and the master. I put my router upstairs on the wall above where the TV is downstairs. I also bought a dual band. I have my firestick set up on the 5G band, and run the phones and tablets on the 2.4G. The computer upstairs is also on the 5G. Both of those are the closest to the router, and usually not running at the same time. You can play with the settings and how you let each device connect. I went with the Archer C7 and didn't spend a ton of money. With the square feet you have and only two story it shouldn't be an issue. I can stream Pandora on the 2.4G connection on my phone way at the back of my yard.

I would check with your internet provider before getting one. Some are moving to forcing customers to use their modem/router instead and will shut off access if you have your own.

Charter lets you use your own router. I think you have to use their modem though.

Charter will let you use your own modem and router. I have a Nighthawk router and it works great.

Charter is coming to install on Thursday. I went with the Nighthawk X6. After I get internet, I'll be able to tell what kind of strength I'm receiving. If I need to work on it, I'll try some different things. Who knows it may work just fine. I'll let you guys know how it works out. If it doesn't work very well, I think I'm going to go the hardwire route.
