Just got this one for Christmas.
I think you can find it under $200

If you can go $300, I would say Deep Blue, if you are good with quartz instead of mechanical. Legitimate dive watch with sapphire crystal. Otherwise, try this www.timezone.com. This site has a forum called 'Sales Corner' for buying/selling/trading. Pretty well policed by serious collectors, might run across a Hamilton or Luminox for near your price. For sure try to shoot for something with a sapphire crystal.

Victorinox

Picked that one up last month. Haven't had it long, but so far I like it. A little more than $200, but not by much.

Only thing I dislike about it is only the hands are luminous and its not super bright in the dark.

What style of watch are you looking for?

Something nice, but that I can wear daily and it will last at least 2-3 years. I know I can always change the band for relatively little money.

this is the one I wear every day, Seiko SNN233.

Best one I've seen so far. I like the all black look, but may need a brown strap / blue face as well.

I have every watch that I have ever bought since college. About 12 different ones including Fossil, Pulsar, Seiko, Citizen, and Movado. Yes, my 20 year old Fossil and Pulsar watches still work just fine.

You just have to take care of them.

I have a Fossil that is about 13 years old, it just eats through batteries pretty quickly and the face has some scratches.

I've bought and sold a few watches from www.watchuseek.com in the sales section of the forum. Usually you can find some really good used stuff.

I used it recently for a watch that is a couple hundred more expensive than whats being discussed in this thread and I've been satisfied so far. I don't think I would buy a "high end" watch from there but I'd purchase anything under $1,000 from them.

I didn't think about the smart watches initially, but I guess it's an option. I'll have to see if the extra functionality is worth it. I also heard HTC is going to release theirs soon, and I'm a big fan of their products.
