If you like AT&T's coverage you should look at Cricket. It's the same network, AT&T owns them, and the prices are a lot better. I don't have them but the only thing that's holding me back is their phone selection is limited meaning you might have to Bring Your Own Phone and that could mean no payment plan. For example Apple's payment plan only works with the Big 4 wireless carriers and not Cricket. But if you have a phone you're happy with or don't need a payment plan I can't think of a reason not to switch.

My wife and I each have an unlimited data plan with T-Mobile for 80/total (no taxes).
So basically 40$ a line for unlimited for each line.

I really depends on your specific needs. You need to know how much data you use every month and what features are important(like tethering maybe?).
I have 3 lines with T-Mobile $140/month and the give a rebate of $10 per line if any line uses less that 2GB. Also, they provide Netflix for free, free hour of gogo inflight wifi on planes, free international data/text.
Those are all very useful features to me so T-Mobile's value is extremely high for me. It may not be the same for you.

Whatever cheap service Walmart offers. Just make sure the phone you buy is on Verizon or AT&T towers, not sprint. Same exact coverage minus visual voicemail.

I have 5 lines on cricket unlimited all and pay exactly 100
I believe they use att servers so it works great for us

Not exactly, free until they decide you use to much data outside the US and drop you for "excesive use".
It is good for the ocasional travler but not if you spend lots of time outside the US or want more than 2G, Fi wins this one hands down.

T-Mobile has free LTE and HSPA+ in countries with no LTE. I just used over 10 GBs of LTE in Mexico City and Cacun earlier this year without charge.

If you’re willing to get new phones, Total Wireless is pretty good. They’re on Verizon’s network. We have 3 lines unlimited talk/text and 20 gb shared for $82.
Customer service is absolute crap though, but that’s probably true for all low-cost MVNO’s

If you are using lots of data Project Fi is a bad choice inside or outside the US b/c you are paying per GB used. If you spend large amounts of time internationally AND use large amounts of data you should just get an international add on/plan no matter who your provider is.
