Thoughts? Opinions? Looking to dump charter. How good is the service? Pricing after the teaser intro price? Speed wise all I need is fast enough to watch Youtube, WatchESPN etc. Not into any gaming at all.
Thanks for any help

You'll have to look on the website for that or disclose roughly where you live, but it's freely available before you sign up for it. In my experience, uverse Internet typically offers slower speeds at comparable price points to charter in my area, and charter has been as/more reliable than AT&T. We actually just made the switch the other way that you're talking about. My father was paying ~$45/mo for a 3mbps connection from AT&T. They offered to give him a new connection at 45mbps for $40 for the first 6mo and then $60/mo after. Charter was something like $40/mo for a Mbps connection. The coax cable was poorly installed, and one week later when I was fooling with the modem, it broke internally this was a Sunday. A tech was at the house on Tueaday afternoon (would have been there Monday morning, but no one could meet the tech).
Also, in terms of "fast enough" to do those things, if it's just you/you're streaming one thing at a time without other internet access in the house, 5mbps is about the minimum you'll want for HD live streams. 15-25 would be fast enough for probably anything you'd want to do unless you had several devices streaming HD at once.

Sounds like I am better off staying with charter.

Overpriced for the service, imo.

It's just slightly better than dial up. When I speed test it, I routinely get 4-5 down and .5 up.
Probably better off where you are.

Router would always break on me
shite was frustrating as hell. It was fast enough to watch watchESPN and youtube, but it wasn't dependable

It was not very fast nor reliable in bad weather. Charter is much better than AT&T for internet service.

I'm happy with mine. When I switched it was cheaper and better channel offerings than Cox. I get a steady 18 & 2 on my internet. Nothing to brag about it but it works consistently for me.

It's fine when it works. It often has outages, in my experience. Lasting from a few seconds, to hours or even days. Reliability fluctuates-Last year I had several multiday interruptions. It's been better recently, although it still goes out once in a while. The technician has been out several times and nothing has really fixed the problem I suspect it has to do with them not wanting to spend money on an equipment upgrade in my somewhat sparsely populated area.
Unless your ISP absolutely sucks goat balls, I wouldn't switch to Uverse.

I just switched from Uverse to Comcast here in Houston. Was fed up with Uverse's stability issues. Constantly having to reboot the modem. I'm literally 24 hrs into Comcast, so too early to give an opinion there.

It was awful. Went through several routers and modems. Service hardly ever worked. Even when it did work, just wasn't very fast for a full household wanting to run multiple tvs, tablets, phones, etc.
We used their tv/internet. Just wasn't worth the headache.
My wife signed us up for my birthday. I remember that weekend LSU played at Georgia. Everything was set up. Game was on for maybe five minutes until it cut out.

Other thing to consider: Do you prefer point-to-point circuits or shared circuits?

We have Uverse TV and Internet.
Our landline (Desktop pc) does fine most of the time. I get high ping when playing games sometimes, but it's not a make or break thing.
The wireless is our issue really. Our signal across the house is mediocre at best, we don't have a signal strong enough to watch Netflix/other streams. ATT has said it's either the router or the way our walls in our house, and that we needed to purchase an extender (surprise surprise).
My wife is the main one who wants to stream shows, and Im content with my hardwired desktop. I would give the whole setup a C.

I have Uverse in DFW and don't have any complaints other than my bill is going to skyrocket after this month. Charter is the only alternative I am considering, anyone in DFW have any experience with Charter?

I pay for 18 down, and my latest speed test showed 20.26 down and 4.89 up. Haven't had any issues in bad weather.
Can't really comment on price since I have it bundled with TV and phone. But I pay less for this than I did with Cox for just TV and internet, and I have more channels.
